provenant du groupe. Entretemps, je suggère les thèmes suivants;

Tennis Tri-Community Organizing Committe meeting

        You will recall a meeting held by Tennis NB, chaired by Andrew Wright, (former)ATA Executive Director, in mid-October 2008. At that meeting,  a request was made for volunteers to form a committee with the view of developing a strategy for “indoor courts” in the Moncton area. I was very pleased to see the number of people who signed up and I agreed to help organize the initial meeting. The primary purpose of this group is develop a strategy for indoor courts in this “hotbed of tennis”.  While an agenda is not established for the meeting, I am looking for suggested topics from the group, I suggest some of the following be up for discussion, namely;
  1. Elect a “Board of Directors” to steer this committee and define roles.
  2. History of efforts made by interested parties to establish indoor facilities.
  3. Other possible functions of the “committee”
        Accordingly, you are invited to attend a first meeting of the “Tri-Community Tennis Committee” to be held Saturday morrning, January 17th,2009 at the UdeM CEPS, boardroom 266 from 10 to 12AM. Please advise any subjects you wish included on the agenda and be prepared to be an active part in developing a dynamic

    Hi Indoor Tenns in Moncton Region.

    It is of particular importance to this project that all three Moncton area clubs plus Memramcook and any groups out of Shediac be part of the process – we have to all be on the same page

    It’s time for the Greater Moncton tennis community to make indoor tennis a reality. The service provided by the CEPS is simply unacceptable: we paying a lot of money and getting very little in return.

    Having a decent indoor facility will help our sport grow and actually increase memberships in Moncton, Dieppe and Riverview. Hopefully these 3 clubs can work together to resolve not only this issue but others. Why should we try to reinvent the wheel?

    Fredericton, where no official tennis club exists, is working hard towards an indoor facility. Why shouldn’t we? The Greater Moncton area has 3 successful clubs. It’s been host to three National Junior Championships AND NB’s first pro tournament. An new indoor facility will make the GMA the hub of tennis in Atlantic Canada.

    If there is a mailing list for updates on this (or website/newsletter/whatever) I’d love to be added to it. Has there been any discussion of where to place a new (and GREATLY needed) facility or what type of surface to use?

      hi brian

      Yes there is a mailing list although we are not too communicative during winter. You can go to the web site http://www.riverviewtennis.ca and sign up – look on the bottom left of the main menu on the left on the home page

      Come visit us too on the bottom of Biggs Drive in Riverview as we should be open the end of May

      We also expect to do a cool blues jam night fund raiser May 29 – just in planning stages – check the blog or web site later on for details as we are just organizing this
